Fly Fishing 101

Our popular—and FREE—Fly Fishing 101 classes are a great way to introduce yourself to the world of fly fishing. Join us at an Orvis retail store near you for these fun and engaging classes.

We’ll cover all the fundamentals:

• Rods & reels
• Rigging
• Essential knots
• Fly selection
• Basic casting

When you’re ready for the next step, and once you’ve completed our Fly Fishing 101 class, you’re eligible to participate in our Fly Fishing 201 class, where you’ll head out on local waters for the chance to catch your first fish on the fly! And, upon completion of either class, you’ll receive special discounts on Orvis gear!
